Camshaft Help!!!
 

2001 2.3l manual RWD

I took a chunk out of the camshaft with the alignment tool. its at the very end on the lip and has no stress. MUST I replace it? attached a pic.

As long as there is enough meat left so the alignment tool can time the cams correctly, I don't have to tell you what would happen if they're not.
There's a hexagonal "nut" area near the front of the cams that you put a crescent wrench on to keep them from turning when torqueing down the big nuts on the end.
This prevents loading up the end of the cams when tightening the sprocket gear nuts.
The alignment tool is just meant for that, and nothing else.
