Carb 2.3 in place of fuel injection

I have a 86 ranger 2.3 engine thsts fuel injection that's bad...I have a friend who is giving me a good running factory carb 2.3 out of a 83 mustang....question is, is this a easy swap...just get power to the ignition and gas to carb....right

Welcome to the forum

You need a different intake manifold, one for a carb, the 2.3l Lima engine did come with carbs since the 1974 Pinto so they are out there
You need a Duraspark 2.3l distributor, it has Vacuum advance, and an HEI module, you can use Duraspark module but HEI is cheaper and better

You need to delete the high pressure fuel pump in the frame rail under drivers seat area and maybe add a fuel pressure regulator, the in tank fuel pump should be OK with a carb but can't say for sure if it would pump too much pressure.

Fuel pump power is control by the computer you are eliminating, so best thing would be to use the same fuel pump relay you have now but add an oil pressure switch to Ground it, like computer does now
So add a T to current oil pressure sender and use a switch instead of sender
This is a safety issue, because electric fuel pumps will stay running in an accident or rollover, which would be a BAD thing, using oil pressure switch means if engine is off so is fuel pump, carb has enough fuel in the bowl to start engine, then pump comes on
