Cluster issues

Hi i have two questions about my post-revision 1995 ford ranger dash. today i pulled apart my dash cluster to rig my anti slosh module and when i pulled it out to look at the module it had 8 electrical connectors (4 on either side) instead of the 5 (3 on one side and 2 on the other) like ive seen other people hack.

can i still bypass the module with the 8 connectors?

and my second question pertains to the dash lights, i reinstalled my dash after making my discovery and the middle background light cane on tonight. So i think i accidentally knocked dust off of it and created a connection?

the question is could a dirty backplate be the cause of no dash lights? Or maybe one of the 3 connectors that plugs into the back need cleaned? It excited me so id like to get them all working. Any insight or info on a 95 dash cluster’s anti slosh module and backing lights would be great <3
