Code p1432 -- stil not running correctly
Code p1432 -- stil not running correctly
Hello all,
Recently my 2001 Ranger 2.3 would suddenly lose power while driving and move very sluggish. I tuned it up, replaced sensors, and a couple of other things. Anyhow, the code is gone, but the truck runs fine, but only intermittenly. It still suddenly loses power and just putts along. Anyone have any ideas?

P1432 wouldn't/shouldn't cause running issues, just means heater in thermostat housing was bad, Ford dropped that heater in 2004 on the 2.3ls
I assume you replaced that housing/thermostat
What new sensors?
Very bad idea to replace sensors(except O2s), "new" means never ever.........ever tested now-a-days, not "tested and it works" like it meant 40 years ago
Describe more symptoms
How does it do at highway speeds?
Does it accelerate OK or is that when you notice the issue?
When engine is cold does it run better than after it warms up?
Or do problems seem less after warm up?

So, talked with my friend that's working on the truck.
The housing and thermostat has been replaced.
So the issue is, it runs fine and then suddently runs out of gusto and has no power. If you push the pedal down all the way it sometimes corrects itself. Also, the water hose on top is running hot and the bottom is cold. He says the fuel pump seems to be working fine. He just can't figure out what is causing the issue.
Sometime ago, before it was mine, the catalytic converter was also byapassed.
