code p1537 -ideas and suggestions please

check engine light is still on and code says p1537. I believe that is the IMRC. I ran the truck for a while without changing plugs and when I did , they were pretty worn out. Would this cause excess carbon build up in the manifold that can be cleaned out with brake cleaner? I was thinking of spraying out whole manifold including sensors to see if that fixes problem. Mechanic did look for vacuum leaks and could not find any.

Your thoughts please

more than likely the vacuum hoses that go to the actuator are cracked or the actuator itself has rusted and is falling apart. At least that's what happened on my '02. The dealer charged around 175.00 for the new actuator, only took a minute to change it.

A couple weeks after I changed mine I found a video on youtube that talks about changing the vacuum hoses and such.

Dont be so quick to assume it's the actual IMRC that has failed.
