Downshifting change
Downshifting change
Hey fellow Rangers,
I have a 2001 2.3L automatic that recent began having downshifting problems. I'm not sure if it's vacuum, solenoid, valve body etc. Before taking it to the shop I figured I'd see if any of you experienced that same and have a tip.
Current mileage is roughly 127k
Last transmission service by Ford was 67k (might be my problem)
Oil appears the proper level and doesn't smell burnt.
Anyhow the issue is now when I climb the hill to my house which is a rather steep grade it seems to be grabbing an extra gear and skipping the normal downshift point. This is with A/C off as those of you who own this particular motor know that does make a noticeable difference
