Definently a fuel problem. Change the fuel filter lately? Thats where I would start. How many miles you have on it? Any fuel related parts ever changed?

Injectors may need cleaning. Not a bad idea at 139k. Sounds like the fuel pump or pressure regulator are your problem.

Kind of a waste of money to try to add power to a 4 cyl . You could swap out the motor for a 4.0

Not sure. You would have to look around. Better yet, drop a V-8 in it.
