1500 rpm

Whats up with this? When I start the truck cold, it idles at 1500 rpm for about a minute and a half and starts slowly comng down.

Mine does this also, i remember i read on here why it does it but i can't remember what it said lol

umm its called warming up all the trucks do it even my car does it.

It is a fast idle mode for the truck to warm up

warmup

Ok ,but should it be doing it when its 85 degrees outside? My other vechicles will fast idle only in cold weather.

Ya man, my 2.5L does it to even when it is warm out. I would not worry about it. I think I would be weird though if you truck had been running for a while, you turn it off, then turn it back on and it does that.

yeah my 2.3 does that so does my girls duratec taurus.....completely normal although i would let it idle down before shifting into gear....not good on tranny

believe even a little blip of the throttle will take it down to normal idle. my 4.0 does it...completely normal.
