Gibson exhaust review for 2.3L

Just wanted to get feedback from anybody with a Gibson and a 2.3L. Thanks!

Can't say for sure, but I had a 2.3 with the Dynomax system and currently have a 4.0 SOHC with the Gibson and they both sound great. Bigger engine and three additional cats might have something to do with the Gibson sounding deeper, and a bit quieter.
If you don't like it loud or "ricey" the Gibson would probably do well.

If you like a relatively queit system go with the gibson. if u want a louder note(but crisp) magnaflow

magnaflow, borla, and dynomax, are about the best performance and sounding mufflers out there. I love my mags on my v6 in my car, very nice growl, and no raspy fart canon sounds.

ive yet to hear a gibson set-up, but i want exhaust soon, so i gotta find some more info!

Hi guys.

Just thought I'd let you know that I went with the Stainless Steel Gibson Single-Swept Side Exhaust.

It is exactly the "quiet", high quality stainless steel exhaust I was looking for. The K&N FIPK filter I installed is MUCH louder.

Not really sure about the power gains -- but one look at the stock exhaust (junk) sitting in my empty Gibson box and it becomes very clear that the Gibson is undoubtedly an upgrade.

I highly recommend the Gibson Single-Swept Side Stainless Steel Exhaust for those looking to upgrade from the stock exhaust and don't want a loud exhaust.

Wait till you get a few thousand miles on the muffler, my gibson got better with age.

if anyone is interested i will be selling my gibson single swept side later this month after i switch to borla...im going for a bit louder sound. Will be asking $120+shipping for my whole kit in great condition. Send me a PM if anyone has interest. I have 2 people that were interested but if those deals fall through let me know ahead of time if you want to be on the list.

Sounds great on my 2.3 dohc. I've had it for about 4 years. The sound is really good for a 4 banger. A little deeper than what you hear with the 3.0 Ranger.

Good choice! You won't be dissapointed with it, and it's a nice system for long road trips. Loud enough to be heard, but won't give you a headache! Like Scallion02EDGE said, it will get a bit louder and deeper with time.

I also just installed the gibson stainless side swept exhaust on my ranger. Very nice system and I believe the right sound, loud enough to be different without being annoying. Only difference is I had to make an extra piece to accomidate the crewcab, they only offer it for standrad and extended cab versions of the ranger. I did not use one piece that they supplied with the kit, I used the piece that goes over the axel and installed the tip to that, just to keep heat away from the spare. I prefer the no tailpipe look, thats the onlt reason for not using the last section of pipe. The sound is very good, I had a borla for about a month but didn't care for the annoying sound from it.
