How can I reduce the max speed of my Ranger

Looking for ways to reduce the maximum allowable speed of a 2008 Ranger 2.3L 4x2 with a manual trans. I looked at few tuners but did not find anything. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum

Do what my Dad did to my Mom's car after her 3rd speeding ticket, he screwed a block of wood under gas pedal, so she couldn't get full throttle any more, lol

In a 2003 the computer has the only speed access, it sends speed out to speedometer
So only way I can see to do it electronically would be in the computer, I have read that Rangers did have a "speed limiter" in the computer, seen some reports of 95mph, other say 90 or 100MPH
Not sure why a person who does Ford tuning couldn't lower that if its there
A hand held tuner couldn't, wouldn't have that parameter

I was hoping a hand held would be capable. Who does ford tuning? I wouldn’t even know where to start.

Call local Speed Shops or places that do dyno tuning, they will know local Ford computer programmers, or have one on staff

There should also be Ford computer programmers advertising on Ebay, but a local programmer would be my first choice

Also look at the Forscan forum
Forscan is a Ford programming software and not expensive, check if anyone has posted on how to change Speed Limiter
It is not a tuning software, but it can change the parameters the computer uses

I appreciate the info.
