Intake ?

So, I've been getting really interested in building my own AI, but I've been reading different opinions here and there, so I have this question to determine where i'm going to go next:

What is the difference in gas economy/power etc. with a cold-air intake vs. a warm-air intake? From what I've read, the CAI has more power but less fuel economy and the opposite for the WAI. Is this true?

I read that since cold air is denser it takes more fuel in the mix or something, hell I don't know it's the internet anything can be wrong. Don't shoot me for saying it lol.

Warm air intake because it takes in air frmo inside the hood? read that too, I'm just using the terminology I saw...

All cold air intakes operate on the principle of increasing the amount of oxygen available for combustion with fuel. Because cooler air has more density for a given volume, cold air intakes generally work by introducing cooler air from outside the hot engine bay. However, the term "cold air intake" is often used to describe other methods of increasing oxygen to an engine, which may even increase the temperature of the air coming into an engine.
