Need More Power!!!

hey all. i'm new to this ranger forum and have been out of the loop with ranger performance since i got my stang 2 years ago. i've been wanting to continue improving the pep in my truck and was hoping that someone can give me a direction on where to go next with modding my 2.5L. i already have a K&N air filter, throttlebody spacer and Flowmaster exhaust. are there any other products out there that can give me more power and torque without MAJOR modifications? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

yeah....i went to the bama chips site and they only do 2001+ duratec rangers. is the rogue performance tune power gains with or without a cold air intake? i see that volant and K&N make CAI's for the 2.5L. which of these two is recommended? thanks for the feedback.

i agree with stone, the 99cent mod is the best.

that or spend well over 1k on a 5.0.
or even more and go with a 2.3T.

you will never get the power you want out of the 2.3 and 2.5 motors, unless you boost or spray till it blows.

LOL good luck with 150 horse, our 4 bangers was designed for gas mileage not brute force, if u want power look at a 4.0 or 5.0 yours, best bang for the buck, for a better fun factor boost it or do some head work and build the bottom end and spray the mess outta it

like the truck looks somewhat like mine, i just ordered a chip for mine si ill tell you how that turns out. by the way if you dont mind where did you get the hood scoop or is it a new hood all togather. i pretty much have no exaust on mine either so i think that helps with the power, also if you get a whole new air intake system instead of the drop in k and n it helps too. looks real good see ya.

Icon5 .99 mod?

Can anyone explain to me the .99 mod? I have a 98 ranger 2.5L with an outlaw cold air intake, TBS (ooohhhh-noooo) and a 3" flowmaster cat-back system. Is it that little piece of wire from ebay? Cause I tried one of those but it just made my check engine light come, and stay on. Is there something else? Shoot me a link is possible, thanks guys.
