not running good now

my truck just started running crappy today. i have no power at low rpms and it was stalling when i would come to a stop even if it was in neutral or i have the clutch in. i think the code was p0102 and it said "mass or volume air flow circuit low input"

please help if you can and thanks

Try making sure your air vacume lines are intact from the intake into the engine. Also you might want to clean your MAF sensor.

I am sure someone will chime in with what the code means.

could it be your timing belt/chain? An old car of mine did the exact same thing you described but it through a code for the crank sensor though....just throwing that out there.

But since its for the maf...try cleaning it. Im doing this tomorrow actually, all you do is get some CRC cleaner from an auto store, take your MAF out and spray it down till it dries and then re install.

Another suggestion would be if you know someone with the same engine as you, hence same MAF sensor, trade MAF sensors. If the problem goes away then BAM...you know its the MAF.

This is a dumb question i know, but have you done any intake work lately? make sure the connector is plugged in haha

hope this helps

But i am more then fairly positively certain this has to do with your MAF sensor...if its a 3.0 let me know...ive got a MAF sensor lying around that ill be more then happy to sell for cheap to you.

oooo i just thought of this too, while your doing this...clean your IAC.

IAC is the Idle Air Control valve...it controls the amount of air that gets passed the throttle plate to control the engines idle speed.

i had idiling problems too, my RPMS were really high even at a stop and i tried cleaning my IAC, that only helped for a little bit before i just replaced my who IAC unit (only 40$ at Kragen) and now its only happened to me once, i think i have a vaccum leak somewhere :-/

So what im tryin to say is, your problem mights harder to find then you think.

also if you replace it, ive heard some people say that it was their catalytic converter...so replace the MAF...and if its still bad take a look at your catalytic converter

i had a similar problem with my 96, one day it started running rough, and the code was the same also... i tried everything that i could think of, new fuel filter, new plugs, cleaning the iac, flashing/re-learning the computer, i even cut the cat off to see if it was plugged up(it wasn't) new cat back(back pressure) and replacing the maf corrected the problem... i didn't have a bulb in my ses light and had no access to a scanner, so i didn't get the code for a little while, but your on the right track i think the maf will solve your problem too
