Not staying on >.<
Ok. In the morning when I go out to start up my truck, when it turns on it dies right after I turn it on. If I hit the gas during start up it'll stay on but will die after I let go of the gas. So for about the first 5 minutes I have to slightly hold the gas down to keep it alive. After it warms up and stays alive, with the clutch down the rpm drop much, much faster then do normally.
I was wondering if anyone had an idea about what is going on. I took her to a shop last week for this reason and they said the engine temp monitor was busted and was telling the computer that it was warm. Therefore not idling properly. Three days after I picked up it started again. Took her back in today. |
I would suspect the IAC.
Clean it with some carb/choke cleaner. You can also test it by disconnecting it. If the idle doesn't change when you take the connector off, it's bad. Especially if you have AC, do it with the AC on. |
IAC >.>
Umm, I tried to google it to figure out what it is. But I a bit lost on what that is... :27: |
Idle control valve, Its like a little cylinder on the throttle body
Just googled it, It will look like that. http://www.explorerforum.com/photopo...re_low_res.jpg |
Thank you! I'll look at it when I get my truck back or I'll go over there tomorrow and tell them. THANK YOU!
