You have an M5OD-R1(M5R1) transmission
Ford doesn't make that part any longer, hasn't for awhile, but part number is: 1L5Z-7564-AA
That's a 2001 part number and the current and last part number for that part, earlier number was 1988 number( E8TZ-7564-A), first year of the M5R1

Best bet is wrecking yards, any manual trans Ranger from 1988 and up will have M5R1 trans so that part should be around, it was not engine specific or 2wd/4WD specific

If you are not familiar with Ford part numbers, the first two are the year the part was first issued and second two are model of vehicle and division.
Then the actual part number, in above, 7564 is the part number for ALL covers on bell housings, nothing to do with Ranger or transmission model
Last few numbers are Revisions, i.e. A is first, the AA would be second revision, AB 3rd

E8 = 1988, E9 would be 1989, F1 would be 1991, 1L is 2001, 2L 2002
So ALL M5OD transmissions from 1988 to 2000 used E8TZ-7564-A
2001 and up used 1L5Z-7564-AA
