Starter Spade Connector...
Hello - so, I'm changing the positive battery cable on my 97 ford ranger and the female spade/blade connector broke of the cable - the connector itself snapped where it connects to the cable so I can't just stick back on. I can't seem to find a replace connector like the on that was on it. Wondering if anyone has had to replace this connector, where they found it, or if they perhaps rigged up something to get around the connector or ???
They have spade/blade connectors at advance auto parts, etc but they certainly aren't as beefy as the connector that broke off. Here's a picture of how the original one looked like. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...fc99beef35.jpg Thanks... |
Here's what I ended up doing. I drilled out the little hole in the spade connector on the starter for a small nut/bolt. I added a standard crimp on round connector to the end of the cable. I then used a small nut/bolt to attach the cable to the starter.

Good work
Never seen a battery cable to starter motor cable without an eyelet connection, have seen the starter activation wire with spade terminal but never the 60amp wire Must be a 4cyl thing |
