hey dude, i have to get a new thermostat also. For some reason my 2001 2.3l thermostat is a dealer only item. It's like $125 at the dealer

 

holy ****! my old avenger it only cost me like 12 bucks at auto zone

 

$12 for a universal therm. But a few models like mine have a sensor and plug on the thermostat. So you have to buy the whole assembly.

 

Same here. Reason being is because the factory stats have 2 tabs on the side of them so they can seat in the housing properly. That and the seal is different from the aftermarket ones. Stupid but it is what it is. I would go with the 190 -Mike-
