It won't move......

It won't move......

Hi, when I turn my truck on and put it in drive, it won't move - it won't go forward or backwards!!!

Whats it do? does it feel like it wants to move, as if you had it in Drive with the parking brake set, or is it not going into gear at all ?

it goes into gear but it won't go anywhere.

I assume this is an auto, if so have you checked to see if you have any tranny fluid. Sometimes with low tranny fluid it won't move.

automatic or 5-speed? My automatic was doing this around the time I traded it in. Somedays I would turn it one put it in D and nothing would happen I would put it in N then R then D again and hit the gas and I would hear a really loud bang from behind me then it would move.....

I haven't checked that. My uncle is telling me to check the vaccum hose?!?

could of snaped the shifter linkage to the tranny

no it should just be a rod (that goes from the steering collum to the tranny)

although it maybe time consuming if that is the problem

you need to get someone to look at it for you. Either a knowledgeable friend or take it to a serviceplace. Ford knows what to do.
