Head bolts on an '86/2.9L

Anybody know if they are TTY bolts? I am assuming they are, but want to make sure.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum

Yes they are TTY, 2.9l and 4.0l used the same head bolts

Tighten to 22ft/lb
tighten to 55ft/lb
rotate 90deg
Done

Any time you see a rotate XX degree it is TTY

Yes, after 55ft/lb turn each bolt 90deg, 1/4 of a full rotation

TTY bolts can only be used once, they stretch to provide better holding power, but once they are stretched they won't go back to correct length when loosened, they also loose tensile strength when loosened
