3.0 fuel flex changeover help

Hi guys, glad to be a new member.I have a major problem here.my 99 ranger fuel flex engine is toast.I found a replacement motor but its a straight gas.my question is if I can just change over that engine, if so how and what do I do?can I replace the ecm along with the harness and gas motor without any problems?or should I stay with the fuel flex system.any advice, input or feeback is greatly appreciated.I'm stuck and no one seems to know.thanks

I recently did this swap by installing the flexfuel harness, injectors and knock sensor on the new motor. No cel and it runs good.

I didn't even pull the injectors off the rail I just swapped the rails and injectors as one piece. The knock sensor is located behind the head on the passengers side of the engine, If your elecrical plugs are the same you wouldn't have to change it. Yeah I put about 150 miles on the truck and no cel.

There is a sensor on the block just below the head.could that be the sensor?any other thing I should inspect before I put the engine in.thx again
