x-cal3 is the best you can get in the tuning world from what Im understanding, very capable software. I have the x-cal2. The tuner will let you play with shifts, wot shift pressure, air/fuel, calibrate your speedo, check for codes, data logging... some very tricky neat stuff. I doubt you will see 10hp its been dynoed with 93 perf to gain 8hp at the wheel, and 10ft/lbs. The options are for you, the 87 perf is for using the cheap stuff when gas prices go up, but still performs well, the torque tunes move your power band down low, and 93+ octane is suppose to net you the most power gains. The tuner comes in handy when adding more performance goodies to the truck, allows local shops to tune up the truck to get the most out of it. Talk to Doug as said he is the best in the business from what I have heard and read about.

Get Bamachips.

I took out my tune because I had Doug tune it for 89/91/93 gas octane...and now that I'm in college I'm more concerned with saving that $0.10 a gallon :)

what the difference
differeces...perf=performance torq=torque race=race.....87, 89, 91, 93=gas octanes (91 is like cali premium 93=most other places premium)

I am kinda new to the whole ranger stuff, but I think you can choose like 3 different ones....like 87 perf 93 perf and 87 torq (for towing and such)

rangers are "supposed" to take 87, but you can get a tune for 93 to increase hp/tq
