Pulling the upper intake manifold off to get to the fuel injectors. The upper manifold and the throttle body are one piece, aluminum.
How can I protect the throttle body internally from any cleaners/degreasers I might want to use to clean the insides of the intake?

 

I would remove the throttle position sensor and then clean the TB and plenum (aka upper manifold) with throttle body cleaner.
