honestly I have heard good things about both but there is no doubt I would pick Flows over the Magnas. I get a boatload of looks on mine. Angry stares mean you're doin somethin right. cats on (for now) 2.5" cat-back super40.

Most is based on opinion but Flowmasters are loud. I can tell you from experience.

It's a 3.0l Vulcan Engine. Dont try and fool anyone into thinking you have power. Being excessively loud just makes you look like an annoying jackass/douche canoe. Much like BMW owners only worse because your truck is much less cool and you put extra effort into looking (sounding) like a dousche. It's a road vehicle. If it were a trail truck or otherwise I'd be a different story.

Gibson, Magnaflow, Borla. Magnaflow is the loudest, borla is the most expensive (same power gains but not as loud ie practical but expensive), and Gibson is the middle man between the two and often the most budget minded.

I dont get why people on this forum love to bash "ricers" but suggest (or try it themselves) making the wimpy little ranger sound like Chevy 5.7 with straight pipes. same **** different context.

I have 2 rangers, both are 3.0 flex fuel. O2 edge and 03 xlt 4door supercabs. Both are equipped with flowmaster 40's. Single in/single out 2.5 inch pipe with 3 inch tip. AYou can here a light drone at around 2100 rpm. Both have a nice rumble at idle , nice tone cruising. My wife and I went to Pigeon Forge, a 8 hour drive for us. No complaints from her about the noise from the exhaust. At highway speeds you really can't hear it all the well because of wind noise. I'm happy with ny choices

i got quoted like $1500 for the entire Borla stainless SI/DO. yeah right. you can get the Borla ProXS SI/DO muffler for $80 then just do custom piping at a shop. That's what i plan on doing at the end of this summer when i'm done working.

I know a flowmaster you won't see power gains, but it will be better exhaust flow than the stock muffler, right? And i'm not gonna lose power if I go with flowmaster?

Sorry for the stupid questions, I'm 17 and kinda new to modding vehicles.

This is why I haven't really put an exhaust on my 2.9 L. No matter what you do, it's still going to be a 2.9 lol. And I am okay with that! But Gibson does sound great! My friend has dual Gibsons on his Stepside. They sound gruff, but not over bearing like a Boeing flying over your head and not annoying like a bumblebee Honda.

I put a 50 series on mine and it sounds nice, not tacky at all.
