Help with DPFE

Mine is disconnected, was like that when I bought the truck. The EGR valve has some sort of rock hard stuff all in the hole in the back, like they wanted to block it off, I have no clue about Exhaust systems.

Anyone got a diagram for what to connect the DPFE hoses to?

The EGR valve isnt supposed to have that hole blocked off right?

Any help is appriciated..!

Update: I dont even see a spot for the tube on the exhaust manifold....Im assuming the previous owner tried to disable the EGR system..... weird thing is im not getting a CEL... Should I just leave it be? I also have a problem where it will stall on hard accelleration from take off, is this tied into the EGR being disabled? Get crappy gas mileage as well...Any help on this one????
