99 3.0 and 2001 3.0 differences

I know that 3.0's are supposed to be interchangable from 98-00 but what did they change that would make a 01 different? Is it just wiring and sensors? I am wondering if I can use a 01 motor in a 99 truck.

I dont think anything changed untill '02 with the different intake manifold and different MAF. '98-01 3.0L's were the same.
