Thats because it doesn't have one.
1989 uses a speed density system with MAP sensor, but MAF or MAP wouldn't cause your issue.
Dealer??
Hope it wasn't a car dealer with that kind of advice, card dealer, antiques dealer maybe :)
Anyway your 1989 2.9l engine will have a TFI ignition system, one of the more common issues with these as they got older was a no start after engine was warned up.

Usually you need to replace the module on the distributor.
One thing another fellow did was to carry a bag of ice, after warm up and no restart he put the bag of ice on the TFI module, and let it sit there for a minute or so.
Engine started right up, normally he said it took at least 10-15 minutes before it would start again.
He replaced module and all was good after that

Maybe he meant there were 25 guys with 1 year experience, each, lol.
MAF sensor could be removed and engine would still start, same with MAP.
No start is the big 3
spark
fuel
compression
And cold vs warm is usually electrical, not always but best place to start.
Coils can also overheat which would be the next thing to check after TFI module
