Air box hoses

I replaced my air box and failed to take notice what order the 2 hoses that go into the thermal switch on the top cover...one comes from the intake vacuum source and one from down below at where the warm exhaust air comes into the air tube that feeds the air filter box....which hose goes to the fender side and which one on the engine side of thermal activated switch???

I don't think it would matter, that valve is either open or closed by air temp, so would pass vacuum on to set the flap to get pre-heated air or fresh air, no matter the orientation of the hoses.
