Anyone Running lightweight pulleys With a stereo system?
 

I would really enjoy a tad more pep in my 3.0 Ranger. I heard that the pulleys are a nice upgrade.

question: I am running a 12" sub/amp. With the stereo up, my lights already dim pretty bad at night. Would running underdrive pulleys make everything worse? would it be bad for my engine? and would the overdrive alternator pulley solve the problem?

second: i am only planning on buying the crank pulley and alternator pulley (excluding water pump pulley) is the size underdog.com has for rigs with all 3 pulleys? or only the crank pulley? or is the crank pulley the only thing that affects the size of the belt needed?

final question: Will I have to remove anything besides the Belt to remove the crank pulley? (will i have to remove the fan/shroud, etc. to get to the pulley? or are the DIYs on this site saying to do that only when installing the waterpump pulley)

If you install the alt. pulley with the crank pulley your alt. will still spin the same speed as stock. So you should see no difference in charging.
This is the combo I run and I also have sub's and an amp.

To do the crank pulley all I did is loosen the fan shroud so I could work around it to get to the pulley bolts.
From the bottom you stick your hand between the radiator and fan shroud to get to crank pulley.
Very easy project.

The water pump pulley is the same diameter as stock.It just looks better and is lighter but not really necessary.
And yes you will need the shorter belt to run the crank pulley.

ok , so you just loosend the fan shroud, loosend the belt tensioner - and that was all?

Did you get a noticable diffrence? feel anything in the butt dyno?
