Bogging down feeling

Ok, every time it rained for awhile my truck would kinda "skip" a beat and jerk a little. Since I'm not a mechanic I didn't have a clue but finally figured out it was the spark plug wires (they were exposed and throwing sparks). This past weekend I took the old ones off and put new ones on. Now it is "skipping" when ever I start to go up hill, or whenever my RPMs are around 2000.
My theories are I need a new set of spark plugs, or that I loosened one when changing the wires, but since I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing all advice is welcome.

If it is new plugs I need, how difficult are they to change on a 3.0? And will I need any special tools? I'm almost tempted to just take it in and let someone do it for me, but I hate to cough up any more money than I have to.

Thanks

Well, whatever it is it is getting worse. My check engine light has now come on, and it is bogging down more.

Anything? Guess my next step is to take it in to get looked at.

Well, here is the verdict:

1. O2 Sensor is reading slow. Guy basically said that an aftermarket cadlic converter was put on but the guy before me didn't spend the money to put on the "OEM converter"<-i think thats what he called it.

2. Fuel filter is clogged, he's going to clean it.

3. Mass air filter (not right but something close) is clogged with oil from my K&N filter kit, also going to clean this.

4. And finally, what I also suspected, it has the original plugs on it. Needs new plugs BAD.

And all in all this is going to set me back about $350. But thats what happens when you can't work on cars for crap huh?

He also said that my drive shaft needs teflon oil or lube or something put in it because it is making a clunk noise when I put it in gear? Said it is pretty widespread with rangers? Not fixing that yet, has anyone heard of this problem or experienced it?

i haven't re-oiled it since I got it in Febuary. Just to look at it it doesn't seem to need it yet.
