will not start

hi all back again and wow what a day .. drove to pick someone up and for its first time the ranger would not start .waited 3 hours for tow.. power does not seem to be an issue since the truck still cranks and has power to inside stuff.. only thing i seem to notice diffrent is when priming i do not hear the fuel pump engage,.. i also went into the under hood fuse box the #5 relay does not seem to click when engaged... i have it removed atm it has 5 pins im unsure which must be tested and what to look for reading wise. If anyone has had this issue before please any advice would be nice i might end up replacing the pump but atm the fuse might be bad.

If it's not the inertia switch, def sounds like pump.

found the problem and fixed very odd tho... theres a vacuum line that goes off the main airfilter tube too the oil cap area. that small tube had pop'd off the main air line and stopped the truck from starting somehow, i also noticed my theft light going crazy <blinking> because of this. after refitting it the truck starts with no issues again and the theft light is off once more. so anyone having these issues check all your vacuum lines for loose ones i will try and post pic later of the problem one.

yeah hoping its gremlin is gone now. the fix did seem too simple, i still wonder why it caused my theft light to flash constantly<says to service the system in manual when this happens> can that light affect starting at all?

yep dead again drove.. parked for 6 hours.. would not restart, theft light blinking like crazy, no fuel pump sound, still cranks but wont start. I did notice something odd also my power steering felt like it was loosing power randomly when driving mostly when turning would cut on/off slightly.

UPDATE... went back to leave a note and without doing anything this time i heard pump sound and it started. It is running more rough tho and when i turn it loses power steering some still.

Did you happen to turn the steering wheel when the engine was off? Anytime i've turned the wheel with engin off i have to bleed the air out of the power steering system.
