Well i having been doing some research and it looks like i might not be able to do the 5.0L swap because of the law. if i had a 2001 ranger i could, but...
Well i am looking at my other options now. i am thinking of using "Morana V6 Racing's" 3.3L stroker motor. http://www.moranav6racing.com/parts3.html
does anybody know if this motor will work on my truck??? i just e-mailed them so i am waiting for a reply. also how bad do you think my truck would be with this and a whipple? :D

You could goto a engine shop (Up here we have Motor Works which is based out of seattle) that can order engines like no other. If you would like I can try and get the 1-800 # for them. But they order in complete engines all the time....
Any Auto Parts store (Napa for sure) can get you a engine.

Awww man... Clear corner problem UPDATED
I know how you feel man. I wanted to do a 5.0 swap but because of the same year or newer crap i'm just not going to bother. Where I live right now doesn't have emissions but rumor says that we will eventually and I would hate to go through all that trouble and then it not pass emissions. I say just supercharge it then you should be happy.

sorry to say this but there is no way that a whipple can compete with the 5.0L
i think that i want to do the 4.0L swap. does anybody know if it would be a plug and play. i think that i could maybe find one "eventually" for about the price of a whipple. i am talking about finding a wrecked XLT and stealing EVERYTHING including exhast, transmission, and rear-end

stock 5.0's in late model explorers only made just a little over 200 hp and not much more TQ
my personal fealings towards the 5.0 is that its a relic, outdated, no room for improvement, will wear out in under 100k, drinks way to much gas, exhaust manifold bolts fall out, intakes gum themselfs up with sludge, EGR valve problems, overall ford should have retired this tired old dawg a long time before they actuley did!

"$4600.00" LOL! Robbery I say! I could do a HEAVILY Juiced 4.0 with that type of change. A stroked 4.0 with a LOT of nice extras even!
For those hating 5.0L v8's....
Blown and juiced.. This car SCARES ME. I'm a juice nut and this thing.. *I* won't drive it. Before tossing a head gasket, it ran a 7.4! Anyone who wants to doubt the 5.0 , you need to realise it was the engine that brought back the 'muscle' car to our streets in the late 80's/ early 90's.
