1999 ranger 4x4 3.0 motor check engine light came on codes read p0171 & p0174 it said burn lean on bank 1 & 2 what could it be?

truck runs better now with light on then it did before no noises seems to be getting better gas mileage with light on.

 

found it lights out it was the maf sensor had one off of parts truck .the one on my truck looks dirty how do you clean them?

 

You got take it out the truck...thats a given, and then;
Using a can of MAF sensor cleaner which you can get for $6 to $10 at an auto supply store, spray that wire set inside clean. Don't touch it with the spray nozzle straw though. Squirt/spray it about ten times in short bursts. Then let the sensor air dry clean on a shop rag. Give it about twenty minutes or so to dry.

 

ok thanks ill get some cleaner and try it I do have a lot of parts that I took off of a parts truck I bought so that helps
