Right now I have a K&N cone filter in my truck with the stock piping. I was wonderig if i woudl get better hp if i got the full K&N kit for my truck. I guess I could buy it and then Dyno then both, but who has that much time and money.

I think as long as its blocked off from the heat, the difference wont be worth the money....

Did you have the cone on it or jsut the drop in?

Sorry, I miss understood what you said, I had the flat filter in the stock box...

I would make some kind of heat shield and call it good...

Especially on the 3.0 i really doubt you would see any difference. The only thing i would do is, like Chris said, make yourself a little shield (like one that comes on the ful K&N intake) to keep the heat soak down to a minimum

On a unrelated note if you're free Sat the 12th you should come to our [huge]SoCal meet
