Composite intake and aluminum intake differences

I see alot of rangers that have the composite intake, and mine has an aluminum one.

what are the advantages/disadvantages of the composite intake? and can i put a composite intake on my truck as a direct swap?

HillPrideRanger 07-16-2009 07:47 PM

aluminum is like +5 hp and is illegal in cali

Toreador4x4 07-16-2009 07:49 PM

REALLY?!

it seems that every ranger i have driven with the composite intake has been faster than mine....idk

id imagine the aluminum intake holds a lot of heat. weighs more too

korey89 07-16-2009 09:27 PM

Yeah probably mainly heat soak like Zach said. I wonder if the runners are the same lengths?

bucky919 07-16-2009 09:34 PM

Aluminum adds 10hp just because its shinny and more if it has a K&M sticker on it....
