Motorcraft SP 493 gap

I'm replacing plugs on my 94 3.0...I had replaced them about a year ago with auto lite plugs but now I wanted to use OEM plugs...I couldn't find the original OEM plugs (AWSF 32P) but after a trip to a Ford dealer found out Ford replaced them with Motorcraft SP 493 so I went to advanced auto and purchased them but when I got home discovered the plugs themselves read AGSF 32PM the gap on these came much larger then the .042 - .047 recommended for the original plugs??? Should I re gap them to original specs or leave them the way they came at about .052 ???

Yes, regap them, 0.044 is middle, .048 for better low end and starting, and .040 for top end(high RPM)

The larger the gap the better the spark BUT.......the longer the recovery time for coil.
At high RPMs you need better recovery time to avoid misfires
