Welcome to the forum
First the CEL(check engine light), no fuse just for that.
The CEL, like most Warning bulbs, gets 12volts when key is on, the computer Grounds this bulb to light it up, computer Grounds it when key is turned on and Computer Boots up, so no CEL with key on means burned out bulb...........or computer is not starting up.
(there are people who disable the CEL instead of just fixing the problem, pull the bulb or cut the wire)
Most warning bulbs have 12volts on one leg, and light up when other leg is grounded.
Most relays as well
It is safer to have local 12volt power, and then run Grounding wires all over the truck, if they short out not a big deal, just a light comes on when it shouldn't, vs blown fuse or burnt wiring if wire had 12volts when shorted
Dash circuit gets power from one 15amp fuse in the cab fuse panel, that fuse gets power from ignition switch when key is turned on.
Fuse #7 on '94 not sure if its the same in '93
Dash lights get power from head light switch via another fuse, 10amp, #13 in '94
Warning lights should be
CEL, comes on with key on
Battery/charge indicator, comes on with key on, goes off after starting engine IF alternator is working
Brake, for e-brake, comes on with key if e-brake is set
ABS, also low brake fluid, comes on with key on, bulb test, then goes off if ABS is OK, and brake fluid is OK, will also come on if Brake Lights are not powered(blown fuse)
Seat belt, comes on if seat belt is not connected/pulled out, and key is on
High Beam, on with high or Flash beams
Some models had oil level sensor on oil pan, so had Check Oil warning light, next oil change before adding oil back to engine, turn on the key and see if Check Oil light is on
Not in any order, I don't have an "order" for them
But shine a light on each and you can often tell what it is
