Engine Revs High While Stoped

Hi everyone,

New to the forum, My ranger will rev to about 1500-3000rpm some days when I clutch in for about a minute then will go back down to normal when I stop.

Not sure if this is a common issue with the 3.0L, if someone could let me know what to replace or how to fix it would be appreciated.

Idle Air Control Actuator...IAC. It's likely sticking and needs replacing.

What would you recommend? cleaning it, getting one at the wreckers or buying new? It would be nice to save money but if its a waste of time I would buy new.

id personally save my self some time and grief and just buy a new one, of course am not sure how much the replacement piece costs. Don't even bother with trying to clean it.

My IAC was stuck, and my truck ran like crap. Idle was all over the place, and it would even die sometimes. I cleaned the the IAC out with break clean and it's ran great ever since. I should probably replace it but it's not my daily driver.

The other day I did the same, cleaned it with brake cleaner and has been fine ever since. If it acts up in the future I will just replace it.
