For those wanting to add temp sensor

Im in the process of adding a Taurus efan and I dont want to use a radiator probe. Ive decided I want a 200 on - 190 off temp switch instead of the adjustable controller. So I removed the temp sensor right below the TB, installed a T fitting and the original sensor back in. I then checked the temp with my scanguage and it was reading 20F COOLER than before. I even drove it like that for 2 days and it was always showing 20F cooler. So I took off the T and put it back to stock and Im now at previous temps, 195-205. I looked for a t-stat housing with a temp probe fitting but couldnt find anything, so I bought another ranger housing and will drill and tap it for a temp sensor. Im using a HEAVY DUTY 1/2" sensor I got at a semi-truck supply shop. Project should be completed this weekend and will post pics of my work. So for those of you looking to install an aftermarket coolant temp guage, theres no other plug/fitting/location to pic up water temps. You will have to do something like Im doing unless you can find a housing with the fitting already (Should be on a FWD car with the 3.0).

Update: Took the housing to a machine shop and they advised against drilling and tapping. According to the machinist, theres not enough metal to really get a good seal on the sensor. So what I ended up doing is getting a peice of pipe and welding a bung for the sensor. I then cut the upper radiator hose right by the housing and slid the pipe in there and clamped it down. Switch turns on efan around 200-205 and brings temps down to 195 on my scanguage.
