feul pump help

Hey guys I just got my truck back on the road but it seems to be acting up. Its been sitting for about a year. Before it went down the oil was changed and while it was sitting the heads were replaced, new fuel injectors in cylinders 2 and 3, going to get the rest and put them in. Today im driving the truck for the first time in a while and at about 45 or so it seems to start to surge like its losing fuel presure or something. My question is how can i check the fuel pump or do i just do the fuel pump and consider it good?

You can check the fuel pump by measuring the fuel pressure. On the fuel rail that the injectors are connected to, there will be a shrader valve, similar to on your wheels, where a pressure gauge can be hooked up. You should be able to rent a pressure gauge from a local parts store, or buy one for under 20 dollars. Once you connect the gauge there is a certain spec on the fuel pressure under idle and under load conditions. I'm not sure what they are for the 3.0 liter off hand, but probably some where around 35 PSI.

If it has been sitting for a year its got condensation in the fuel tank . Run a couple cans of dry-gas through it.

Or it could be sour gas.
