you will lose some mpg.....shouldn't see much power loss......i don't know why you would want to with the way gas is coming down in price....E85 is prolly more expensive...

texasfan1000 09-18-2006 09:12 AM

Running E85 you lose MPG, hp, and money. But it's not from the middle east and produces cleaner emissions.

Consumer Reports on E85

Loose MPG? I'll give you such. HP? NO WAY. money? At $1.80 a gallon, I was getting 14mpg. On regular gas Im LUCKY to see 16 on the highway. Gas was 3$/gallon -vs- 1.80$ for E85 when I ran it 2 weeks ago in my area. Mile for the dollar.. its a lot better.

As for power.. E85 runs better then gas ever did in my engine.

Master Urza 09-18-2006 11:12 PM

On a national average, E85 costs more than gasoline. Your area may be different, but I'm not just talking about your area.

evnmn3 09-19-2006 10:34 AM

D. where you getting the E85? Are you going down to PA? I didnt think we had any pumps around here.

Earl43P 09-19-2006 12:41 PM

E-85 nets you an ~5% (or is 5 HP?) GAIN, not loss in horsepower. You sacrifice by getting 20-30% less mpg.
