Flowmaster 40 to loud.

I have had a flow 40 on my 03 Ranger and had to put the stock muffler back on because of how loud it was on the highway. I drive 25 miles to college and back everyday and need something quieter(Stereo on max still couldnt drown it out). Any input is appreciated.

where is it mounted? i had no muffler after the last cat and i threw it back on cuz i couldnt here my stereo either. but where it unbolts is right under the passanger seat. i do have 4.0 though. not sure if the 3.0's r routed the same way

im choosing to just get a cat back so the exit is a further away

Put your stock one back on. There is not any use in having an aftermarket muffler if you don't want to hear it.

hey John , i believe you said that the older rangers sounded louder. does a 94 fall in that range? and also why would it sound any louder than like a 02 or something? thanks!

what about the 94's lol, i mean ive heard 2 flows on a 93 which is practically same set up as a 94 on 2, 4 cyl. rangers (Zach and Cody) and they sound nothing like 4 cyl. so im hoping my exhaust is the same way, sounds like a mustang at idle ha.
