Check fuel cap light & vapor canister

Today while I was driving the "check fuel cap" light came on. The gas cap was on. There are no visible leaks. I did not notice a fuel smell around the gas cap or filler neck, but I did notice a faint fuel smell around the vapor canister.

I'm going to try replacing the gas cap first just to be sure, but I've got a sinking feeling it's something else.

I checked for codes. There are none.

Can the vapor canister be removed with the bed on? My truck has Line-X covering the bed bolts, so it's really only accessible from below.

The bed bolts will come out if they have to, I just want to avoid tearing up my Line-X to get at them.

I did finally get a code...P0457: evap leak (fuel cap loose/off)...which is nothing the light on the dash didn't already tell me.

It ended up just being the vacuum line to the purge valve. It got knocked loose somehow.

It's under the hood, on the driver's side near the master cylinder. It has two rubber fuel lines going into it and a vacuum line that goes to the intake manifold. It's a black plastic thing.

Here, its what the hoses are running too. Its on the right side of the engine bay sort of below the fuse panel.
