glasspack & emissions

First, I am looking at bolting a glass pack right up to the stock cat. does anyone know what the size of the flange is there?

heres the glasspack im lookin at:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...44745_-1_10265

if that fits, I want to kno if my truck will pass MA emissions with a glasspack on since im still plannin on running the cat?

i would keep the stock cat-back as a backup incase i need to attach that for emissions testing

Changing the muffler should have little to no impact on the emission levels as long as you retain the factory cats and oxygen sensors.

yea when i got the truck i had both o2 sensors changed along with the egr valve....

think a glasspack will sound good?

I would use a Magnaflow or similar instead.

i cant find any of them that have the bolt on flange... is that the right size flange tho?

i want tho flange so i can take it off easily if i ever have to

i would run a straight pipe over a glasspack.

instead of a glasspack, just go with a flowmaster 40 series.

The ones in your link that are flanged appear to be for use with headers. If your Ranger/Mazda is anything like mine, the cat-to-muffler flange is 2-bolt and is for a small exhaust pipe, not a 3", 3-bolt header collector.

is this the correct type of flange?

Possible but I think the Ranger bolts might be farther apart.

You would need to know the diameter of the new pipe or muffler inlet AND the center-to-center distance of the factory mounting bolts or studs. You can measure those on your truck.

Did you know that you can buy complete catback systems from several manufacturers that will bolt right up to the stock flange? If you just install a glasspack without a tailpipe, it will set up a loud and obnoxious drone inside the cab.

cat backs cost alot of money tho.. college student doesnt have too much to spend

with the glasspack i was gonna run pipes off the muffler and out the back
