I found this volant intake, but it says it has a box not just an open filter, but the part number is screwy. The part number is VOL-19630 on the Volant site they say it is for a 02' 4.0, but the last two numbers on all the other part numbers for every other intake seem to coralate to the litters in the engine, i.e. all 4.0L models have a part number of VOL-***40 all 5.4L have VOL-***54. I would rather have the box, but I am not sure if this is true or not.

Also on TPC.com they make it seem like it has a box, and only show it with a box, but don't list a part number. Guess if I bought it and it dosn't have a filer I could return it since it isnt as discribed.

bd! MAC rocks!!!

Sorry, just have to second Q's opinion. All of Volant's intakes have an enclosed airbox. Their site lists the stock number that you listed as the correct one.

I would call them if you still have questions. If you're paying that much, you should get what you want.

*** edit. I mean all Volant box kits come with an airbox. Just noticed they also sell another without one. Didn't know they did that till now.
The 19xxx kits should have a box ***

Price really isnt the issue, I don't care for the chrome tube or the exposed filter.

Oh geez, not the plastic vs metal intake discussion again. Q's right, the differances are virtually nil. Mostly a matter of taste.
