Half -Shafted T-Body

I have searched the site and cant find much info on this as far as people that have done it. There is a how to on underdog's website.

I just want to hear from those that have done this and how many miles you have since this mod? And I am sure alot of people havent heard of this mod so this is prolly some new info for a few folks.

Wow kinda sad. This has been up for 8 hours and no input at all. Has no one done this and why not? I am planning on doing half of it tonight and half of it friday when I get the cylinder hone.

I have a half-shafted throttle body but haven't got around to installing it on the truck yet. So I can't give you any feedback. Not too difficult to do and should have no negatives if done with care.

why would you need a cylinder homne to halfshaft the throttle body??

Johns777 06-18-2008 03:18 PM

Cylinder hone to bore out the throttle body a little bit.

SuperGildo@RRP 06-18-2008 03:27 PM

lol, you know how long that will take to make any sort of real difference in the bore size???

Johns777 06-18-2008 03:28 PM

I'm retired until July so I got plenty of time.

The hone is to smooth out the transition in the inlet horn. It will really mess things up if you actually increase the bore size where the butterfly closes.

Johns777 06-18-2008 03:32 PM

Was going to increase the bore size before the butterfly not under it.

I half-shafted my throttle body about 2 weeks ago. Havn't really noticed any difference from before I did it but I'll be getting a tuner soon and hopefully it will help my mods to make a little more difference performance wise. Anyway, I'd say go for it. More air flow can't hurt, right?
