hard start on incline

Ok so today for the second time since I have owned this truck after it has sat for a hour or so and it is on a hill with the front pointed down it cranks for ever and doesn't want to start. By putting the pedal about 3/4 to the floor it will start. If I had very little fuel in the tank I could understand this but it has more than 1/2. Any ideas? BTW 92, 3.0 5sp 4x2.

Only on hills?

Wirelessly posted (Timberwolf)

Oil starvation is another possible reason for rough starts. Stop parking on whatever hill your on.

I have had it for about 2 months, this is the second time it happend. both times it was on a hill parked for awhile. The hill 1st time was a parking lot downtown and second was today in my driveway, I normally park it on the street. Coincidence? whats oil starvation got to do with it not starting? It cranks just fine.

They only thing I could think of is possibly a bad fuel pump or rust in the fuel line. It might have some play and get lodged for a second but that's a long shot. Check for lose wires and grounds. U could also get a cheap fuel pressure gauge and check it when it doesn't start.

I do have a pressure gauge might try it if I have gauge with me when it happens. If I can start it when putting the pedal 3/4 to the floor it it seems as if it was flooding.
