Camshaft Position Sensor???
I broke down on my way to work this morning... the clutch pedal went straight to the floor and I couldn't get it into any gear... so I called AAA and had them tow me to a transmission shop. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0 2WD.
The shop told me my slave cylinder was bad and charged me $598 to fix it.
When I picked it up the check engine light was on... when I ask the shop owner about it he told me Yeah... it came on... and figured it had been on before. He told me the code was P0340 - camshaft position sensor. I told him he must have caused this because I've never had a check engine light before... he told me it must just be a coincidence because he did not touch the sensor...
So... what is going on there? Don't you think he must have done this? Are they related in any way?
Maybe he hit it when he dropped my tranny to put in the new slave cylinder???
