and the muffler is also rubbing on your drive shaft!
Actually.. it does look like its rubbing, not much right from the picture.. but I had the same thing happen to my odl ranger.. and my buddy who did my exhaust told me (after he took a peek at the driveshaft.. which I hadnt noticed) that I wasnt goign to drive off the lot until it got replaced because it had a nice shiny gash all the way around.
Exactly liek what yours looks like.. and them things arent all too thick either

mine is about 2 inches away from the drive shaft and i have no problems and its a dual outlet with turn downs...we jus made sure i had 2 clamps on it and bolted it to the frame really tight...no problems...i had to get a 3inch inlet (used 40 series) and we got some pipe reducers and welded them on to match the pipe..im going to cut the 2 in and 2 1/4 off and run 2.5 from the cat back then 2.25 to 24 degree tips out the back though

Okay, well everyone's established dominance and pee'd on the tree, now let's all drop it shall we, my fellow dogs?
Seriously though, have it looked at to make sure it won't cause a problem long term. If you get those grooves deep enough, they become the point the torsional stress concentrates at and could lead to premature driveshaft failure.
No attitude here, just trying to help! Really I thinka everyone was, but sometimes our "language" can be a bit challenging I know. Sorry for that.

Well guys we all know its rubbing but if he doesnt want to lissen to us just let him go and find out how much damage a breaking drive shaft can do to a truck my dads truck lost one and totaled it because it destroyed the bed at 65 mph and he loved that truck so w.e if it breaks his problem and ur right about the pipe too. but if he wants to do work twice let him. i dont have respect for people that get snotty with someone trying to help them out and thats y i ask u guys alot of ?s b4 i do mods to my truck because at least someone has been able to tell me some problem with it or change my mind to do the mod but thanks for all ur help guys but if he doesnt want to lissen his problem. no disrepect to anyone by the way

Dumped exhaust is what most guys with "prerunners" do, the tail pipe doesn't get in the way of all the suspension and stuff... I had a 40 single in and out dumped on my truck not loud enough, so I went so straight piped dumped it before the rear axle, I like the look of no pipe out the back...thats me though... and dumping it with a straight pipe means no worries of rubbing because its one 2.5" pipe :) haha

lol why would you spend money on trying to improve performance on the 3.0? eventually you'd spend so much money that a 5.0 swap would have been a better idea and power gains would be unmatched.
and I apologize for the rough response. sometimes it's hard to determine tone when you're on a forum. It appears that the muffler isn't rubbing the driveshaft at all times. I drive a lot with my window down and music on mute just to listen to noises and it all sounds normal.
it probably rubs on bumps every now and then when I put the four wheeler in the back. that extra 600 or so pounds really weighs it down in the back.
and as for the sound of the exhaust, it sounds great. It's not loud like a rice burner.

Good, I'm glad we got to a good place here!
But, I've done work to my 3.0 and it has made a difference. I got a used Flowmaster 40 (free) and dumped it before the axle to get away from the problems I had crushing the exhaust after the axle offroading and denting the bottom of the fenders. This has worked much better.
In addition, MAF and throttle body modes that cost me nothing improved it noticeably. Then finally a used STC tuner (the first one without the display) and $75 worth of programs from Fred at RoguePerformance woke it up even more, tightened up my shifts and gave me better mileage and power. I spend less than $200 overall for all these performance modifications.
It doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg to improve what you've got -- and it's a lot cheaper than a swap. No, it's no 5.0 or even a 4.0 but it's great for a 3.0 and the added power was needed with my lift, larger tires and axle swaps.

i agree with my dad (04 EDGE).
i would take it back to the shop you got it done and raise hell about it, that looks like ****.
i would also have them replace the drive shaft and if they refuse, i would take it to a driveline shop and get it looked at, if they say it is unsafe i would start a lawsuit or something to that extent.
that is not safe at all, who ever did that has no idea what they are doing and i would never let them touch my truck.
