Hope everyone is having a good day! I'm helping out a friend who has a 2000 Ford Ranger. It was given to him by a family member who is no longer with us. The transmission is going out, and we want to get a rebuilt used one, but we're not certain exactly which one to look for. The one that's currently on it is the P97GT 7006 BBR. The reason we are unsure is that we recall being told the engine may have been modified or possibly changed out, and maybe the transmission was too. It's an automatic, and the VIN is 1FTYR14V5YTA79552. If someone could help me with what details to note when looking for one that will fit, I would greatly appreciate it.
