Icon4 LEaking fuel

well my 88 dangeranger has a fuel leaking coming from the fuel pressure regulator and i followed the line to the fuel filter. my truck has a 2.9 v6 i know its not a 3.0 but i figured you guys would be able to help. i have done some research and have come across 2 options to fix my task at hand fix this *****...
option 1: get a line from a junked ranger
option 2: my research has lead me to a barb connector, this is a peice that will allow me to splice the line together to get rid of that pesky leak.

i was wondering what every ones input on this would be thanks in advance.

never use barb connectors as a perminate fix. get one from a junked ranger if you can or try to find a new one if possible. your local ford dealer may be able to find you one as a last resort

Is it the hard plastic style fuel line. If it is there are special tools and fittings for repairing those.
